6 Year old – Large Neutered Male Toy Poodle

Fully vaccinated and micro-chipped

Good Good on lead, loves to go for walks.
He has been with a foster carer for a few months to be assessed and here is the fosterers summary
:

To date I've had a pampered lifestyle & because of this I learnt to be a bit bossy to get my own way – if this meant snapping at fingers then I’d gave it a go. But things have changed…

I have learnt its fun to go back on the floor rather than always be on a sofa or the bed and it is ok to be groomed and checked over. I don’t have to bite fingers anymore! You can even clip my nails.

Here I am learning what heel work is all about

Just look at my attention!!!

Want to see my recall practice?

I really worked hard to get it right and had loads of fun doing this training.

I am still a little scared of traffic so my foster mum takes me out to play in a safe area right next to a busy road! I think that’s just mean but I am getting better with it now.

I sleep at night, I do not bark when left. In fact, I only bark when someone is at the door. I walk really well on the lead but I will go to the end of it if given the chance, but I never pull. I even wait next to the road when told to and will cross when I am told 'ok'

I live with 3 dogs and 2 dog-savvy children. Given the way I am, I think I’d be better to go with older children please, as I don’t like being poked or pulled

I LOVE walkies! I know my lead and will wait patiently while it is clipped on and then I am ready to go. Whether it’s in the town or across open country, I’m happy. I’ve met cows, fishermen and loads of other dogs and I’m not phased. I do forget my recall a little when there are new people to meet but I am an affable fellow.

I’ve had a little try at agility, what fun that was! It has been quite an adventure but I really do think it is time for me to have a home of my own.

20-month black miniature poodle boy
REHOMED!

This little boy came to Poodles in Need needing a forever home, preferably with poodle-experienced people who would like to do some agility or obedience training.

This is from the Fosterer:

20 mth old black Min Poodle, who was going to be put down due to some issues around being overly possesive and not wanting to get off of the sofa ..  After meeting this anxious worried faced little boy, it seemed hard to believe someone could give up so easily on this little babe. We had a few "lip curling" moments in the first few days, but he has grown in confidence and its great to see him offlead and starting to learn to play with the other dogs.

So.. needs gentle but confident handling, probably never been off lead before, WAS very nervous in town and clearly used to being fed human food only!

Good points, 2 weeks on, eating well now, great recall, sits and gives paw, politely gets off sofa when asked, tentatively playing with the dogs and a ball, greeting affectionately. He is a quiet, clean boy, not destructive and no signs of separation anxiety. Loves his walks and being in the car.
